Geography is the study of the Earth, its people, and its culture. With all the world problems that we currently undergo, geography is vital in coming up with solutions. In the 2010 "Nation's Report Card," over 75% of American teenagers failed a geography exam. Even more frightening is the fact that geographic proficiency has actually decreased since 1991. Geography is a subject that isn't included in regular school curriculums in the U.S., although it is a mandatory subject in most other countries. GeoChamp encourages children to learn more about the world, as they are the future of the American economy. Global citizens have a responsibility to care about each other, and understand different cultures and locations. Students who are taught at GeoChamp will have the upper hand in the competitive global market in the future if they focus and study geography with pure interest. Together, we can see more, do more, and learn more.
